SOLUTION

TO FILL IN THE BLANK

Two quantities 'a' and 'b' are said to be in direct variation if ________ remains constant

EVALUATION

Here it is given that two quantities a and b are in direct variation

 \implies \sf{a \:  \propto \: b}

 \implies \sf{a \:   = k b}

  \displaystyle\implies \sf{ \frac{a}{b}  \:   = k }

Where k is a non zero constant

So From above we see that in direct proportion, both a and b increases or decreases together in such a way that the ratio of their corresponding value remains constant

Hence Two quantities 'a' and 'b' are said to be in direct variation if

 \displaystyle \sf{ \boxed {  \: \frac{a}{b} \:   }} remains constant
