Let us assume that the cost of railway ticket from city A to B is p and from A to C is q.
According to question we can write,
2p + 3q = 177
and 3p + 2q = 173.
Now applying the elimination method we get,
6p + 9q = 531 and 6p + 4q = 346
After subtraction we get, 5q = 185 or, q = 37.
Putting the value of q in any of the equation we get, 2p + 3 x 37 = 177
or, 2p = 177 - 111 = 66
or, p = 33(Ans)
