Because art of writing was not very developed at the time and a lot of the incidents were not penned down on reliable sources... For example, the ancient people wrote on leaves and barks of trees.. Most of which have either been lost or destroyed.. Even if they did remain, we have no knowledge of the language of the time and therefore we wold have to guess the articles written or carved on the remnant bits of text....
