Given :-
- Two resistance of 4 ohm and 6 ohm are connected first in series combination and then in parallel combination .
To Find :-
- Calculate total resistance in both the cases.
Solution :-
~Here, we’re given that two resistance of 4 ohm and 6 ohm are connected first in series combination and then in parallel combination and we need to calculate total resistance in both the cases.
_____________
As we know that ,
↬ Equivalent resistance in :
✰ Series combination – sum of individual resistances
⇒ R(eq) = R₁ + R₂
✰ Parallel combination – reciprocal of sum of reciprocal of individual resistances
⇒ 1/R(eq) = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂
Where,
- R₁ and R₂ are given resistance
- R( eq ) is the equivalent resistance
~ Series combination -
➟ 4 Ω + 6 Ω
➟ 10 Ω [ Answer ]
~Parallel combination -
➟ 1/4 Ω + 1/6 Ω
➟ (3+2)/12 Ω
➟ 5/12 Ω
Reciprocal :
➟ 12/5 Ω [ Answer ]
Hence ,
- Total resistance for series combination is 10Ω
- Total resistance for parallel combination is 12/5 Ω
