Two resistance of 5Ω and 10Ω resistance of the same material are to be connected
to a battery of emf 6V so as to obtain (1) same potential across the end of the resistor.
(2) Different potential across each resistor. Compute (a) How will you connect these
resistors in each case?(b)calculate the ratio of current flows through the circuit.

\huge\bigstar\mathfrak\blue{\underline{\underline{SOLUTION:-}}}

(a). If you want minimum current,you connect the resistors in series. If you want maximum current you connect them in parallel.

(b). R1= 5ohms & R2= 10ohms

Therefore,

Req = 10+ 5 = 15ohms (when connected in series)

V= 6V

Therefore, I= V/Req= 6/15= 0.4A

Now, if the resistors are connected in ||.

Req= R1× R2/R1+R2= 50/15

=) 3.33ohms

Therefore, I= V/Req= 6/3.33

=) 1.801A

Hope it helps☺️
