using wheatstone bridge u can calculate the bill distance by the formula x/100-x=20/30 from this equation u will get x=40 since 20 ohm resistor is shunted the net resistance is 10 ohm hence 10/30=x/100-x since this equation u will get x=25 hence the null shift is 15 cm
