R1 = 1 ohm and

R2 = 2 ohm

  • For series connection

R = R1 + R2

R = 1ohm + 2 ohm

R = 3 ohm

  • For parallel connection

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{1}{R1}+\frac{1}{R2}

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{1}{1}+\frac{1}{2}

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{3}{2}

R= \frac{2}{3}
