Two resistances 30 and 60, connected in the left and the right gap of Wheatstone’s network. If the length of

the wire used is 120cm, then the find the distance of the null point from the centre of the wire.​

★ According to principle of meter bridge

R1/x = R2/(L-x)..........(1)

where L = length of wire

x = null point from R1

(L-x) = null point from R2

now,

substitute the values in eqn.

30/x = 60/(120-x)

=> x = 4cm (null point from R1 is 4cm)

Center of wire = 120/2=60cm

therefore, null point from Center of wire = 60-4=56cm
