Two resistances when connected in parallel give resultant value of 2
ohm and when connected in series the value becomes 9 ohm. Calculate
the value of each resistance.​

in parallal comb. of resistance

1/r1 + 1/r2 =2

r1 + r2 =2 r1r2.................eq.1

in series comb. of resistances

r1 + r2 = 9 ..............eq.2

put in eq.1

so,

9= 2r1r2

hence

r1= 9/2r2

r2 = 9/2r1 ans.
