Two resistors 1k ohm and 2k ohm are connected
in parallel combination.
i] Find equivalent resistance of parallel
combination
ii] When this parallel combination is
connected to 9 V supply, by neglecting
internal resistance calculate current
through each resistor.
[Ans: i) 0.66 k ohm, ii) 9 A, 4.5 A]

1] R1 & R2 are in parallel connection

Therefore, Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2

= 1/1k + 1/ 2k

= 3k/2k

= 0.66 k ohm

2] I = V/R

V = 9 V

R = 1

I = ?

I = 9/1

I = 9 Ampere

I' = V/R'

= 9 /2

= 4.5 Ampere
