Two resistors 20 ohms and 40 ohms are connected in series across a battery of 10 v. find the current flowing in the circuit.

Explanation: Resistance=Potential/Current

First resistance(R1)=V1/I1

20=10/I1

so,I1=1/2A

R2=V2/I2

40=10/I2

so,I2=1/4

In series,Total current(I)=I1+I2

=1/2+1/4

=3/4=0.75A
