R1 = 3 ohm
R2 = 6 ohm
R3 = 1 ohm
V   =  1.5 V

V = I1 * R1
1.5 = I1 * 3
1.5/3 = I1
1/2 = I1

V = I2 * R2
1.5 = I2 * 6
1.5/6 = I2
1/4

V = I3 * R3
1.5 = I3 * 1
1.5/1 = I3
0.66 = I3

I = I1 + I2 + I3
I = 1/2 + 1/4 + 0.66
I = 1.41

Concept

  • The rate of electron passage in a conductor is known as electric current. The SI Unit of electric current is the Ampere.
  • Resistance is a characteristic of a conductor whereby it opposes the flow of electric current through it. It is determined by the relationship between the applied voltage and the electric current that passes through it.

Given

Resistors given are 3 ohm , 6 ohm and 1 ohm connected in parallel to cell

Voltage given is 1.5v

Find

We need to find the current in each resistors and current in the circuit

Solution

Given that

R_1= 3 Ω

R_2= 6 Ω

R_3 = 1 Ω

Now We know that V = I*R

For R_1

V = I_1 *R_1

1.5= I_1 *3\\

I_1= 0.5 A

The current through the Resistor (R1) is 0.5A

Now for R_2

V = I_2*R_2

1.5= I_2*6

I_2=0.25 A

The current through the Resistor (R2) = 0.25A

Now for R_3

V = I_3*R_3\\1.5 = I_3 * 1\\

I_3 = 1.5

The current in third resistor R3 = 1.5 A

Now to calculate the total current in the circuit

I = I_1+I_2+I_3\\I = 0.5 +0.25 +1.5\\I = 2.25A

Total current in the circuit is 2.25A
