Two resistors are connected in series across a 24 V supply and a current of 3 A
in the circuit. If one of the resistors has a resistance of 2 determine (a) the
value of the other resistor, and (b) the p.d. across the 2 resistor. If the circuit is
connected for 50 hours, how much energy is used?

please answer!please!

V = 24 V

I = 3 A

R 1 = 2 Ohm

V = IR

24 = 3 × 2 × R 2

24/6 = R 2

R 2 = 4 Ohm

ENERGY = I SQUARE RT

E = 3 SQUARE × 6 × 50

E = 2700 W

Answer:

(a). R2 = 8 OHM

(b). V = 12 V

(c). E = 2700W

Explanation:

V=IR, 24= 3 x R

(a). R= V/I, 24/3 = 8 ohm

Req.= 2+8 = 10 ohm

(b). V = IR

V = 3 x 8

= 24 Volts.

E = I²RT

(3)² x 8 x 50

9 x 8 x 50

= 3,600 WaTT
