ln the (ii)case the series combination we will find the power by the formula

p=v×i

firstly we will find the I(current)

i =  \frac{v}{r}

i =  \frac{12}{4ohm}  = 3 \: amphere

p = v \times i \\ p = 12 \times 2 \: ohm = 24w

This is the power consumed by first resistor.

now for the 2nd resistor

p = v \times i \\ p = 12 \times 2 \: ohm = 24w

Now the parallel combination iii case

p =  {i}^{2}r

i =  \frac{v}{r }  =  \frac{12}{1} = 12amphere

p =  {12}^{2}  \times 1 = 144w

ratio of both the power is

48:144=1:3
