Two resistors in the voltage divider circuit in the illustration have a total resistance of 1,375 ohms. TO provide the required voltage, R1 must be 125 ohms greater than R2. Find both resistances

The resistors are in series connection.
Given that R1 is 125 ohm greater than R2.
thus R1 = R2 + 125

total resistance = 1375 ohm
⇒ R1 +R2 = 1375
⇒ R2 +125 +R2 = 1375
⇒ 2 R2 = 1375-125 = 1250
⇒ R2 = 1250/2 = 625 ohm
R1 = R2 + 125 = 325 +125 = 750 ohm

R1 = 625 ohm and R2 = 750 ohm
