Given:

Two resistors of 3 ohm and 6 Ohm , and a 6 volt battery are given.

To find:

  • Net resistance
  • Net current through circuit

Calculation:

Net resistance will be algebraic addition of the individual resistance because the resistors are connected in series.

R = R1 + R2

 \implies \: R = 3 + 6

 \implies \: R = 9 \: ohm

Now, current through circuit :

i =  \dfrac{V}{R}

 \implies i =  \dfrac{6}{9}

 \implies i  \approx  0.67 \: amperes

So, net resistance is 9 ohm and current through circuit is 0.67 Ampere.
