Two resistors of resistance 10ohm and 12ohm is parallel with a 30V battery find (a) effective resistance of the circuit (b) current in the circuit​

Given,

  • Two resistors R1 = 10 Ω and R2 = 12 Ω are connecting in parallel combination.
  • Potential difference (v) = 30 V

To Find,

  • (A) Effective resistance of the circuit.
  • (B) Current in the circuit.

According to question,

Case (I), Effective resistance of the circuit.

We know that,

Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2

⇒ Rp = 1/10 + 1/12

⇒ Rp = 6 + 5/60

⇒ Rp = 11/60

Rp = 0.18 Ω

Case (II), Current in the circuit.

We know that,

V = IR

[ Here, R = Effective resistance (Rp) ]

⇒ 30 = I × 0.18

⇒ I = 30/0.18

I = 166.6 A
