The correct statement for this question is given by Option b.

  • In a series connection same current flows through the entire circuit. This is because resistors are connected in sequence and the current flowing has a common path which is not dividing.
  • Two resistors though having 2 ohms and 4 ohms resistance, but in a single path of current flow has the same current in series connection.
  • Option a is not correct because in parallel connection path of current segregates and therefore current divides and resistance does not have the same current flow.
  • Option c is incorrect because the potential difference between two ends is not the same in series connection as two ends of resistors have different potential difference than battery.
  • Option d is not correct because the potential difference is the same through resistors in parallel connection because all ends are connected to one common junction of battery.
  • Hence, when connected in parallel current is the same is only correct.
