Rp = R1+R2

25 = 6+ x

x. = 25 - 6 = 19 ohm

let the two resistance be R and r

they will produce max resistance when they will be connected in series

R+r = 25

They will produce min resistance when they will be connected in parallel

Rr/R+r = 6

from 1st equation R+r = 6

Rr/25= 6

Rr = 150

(25-r)r= 150

25r -  {r}^{2}  = 150

 {r}^{2}  - 25r + 150 = 0

on solving this equation, You will get

r = 15 ohm

R+r = 25

R = 10 ohm
