               R1=10 ohm and R2=15 ohm

               Total resistance = 1/R1 +1/R2

                                           = 1/10+1/15

                                           = 5/30

                                           = 1/6  therefore,R=6

                           Power = $v^{2} /R$

                                       = $12^{2}$/6

                                       = 144/6

                                       = 24 W

In series :

              R1=10 ohm and R2=15 ohm

              Total resistance = R1+R2

                                          = 10+15

                                          = 25 ohm

                         Power  = $v^{2}$/R

                                      = $12^{2}$/25

                                      =144/25

                                      = 5.76 W
