Lengths of the two ropes are 28m

and 36m.

We have to find HCF of 28 and 36

28 = 2 × 2 × 7

36 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

HCF ( 28 , 36 ) = 2 × 2 = 4

Now greatest possible length of

each bit = 4 m
