Two rounds of a rope are put around a rectangular flower bed of length 1 1/4 m and breadth 3/4 m . find the length of rope needed .

ANSWER :

Length = $\frac{11}{4}$

Breadth = $\frac{3}{4}$

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

= 2($\frac{11}{4}$ + $\frac{3}{4}$

= 2 ($\frac{11 + 3}{4}$ )

= 2 × $\frac{14}{4}$

= 7m

✡️As the rope was put around two times we will multiply the perimeter with two.

Length of rope = 7×2

=> 14m
