Two sets of maths and science books containing 1680 and 1056 books respectively in a library have to be stacked in such a way all the books are stored subjectwise and the height of each stack is the same. Assuming that the books are of the same thickness , determine the total number of satcks

To find the total no. of stacks we have to find out its HCF

1680=2×2×2×2×3×5×7

1052=2×2×2×2×3×2×11

So the HFC (1680 and 1052)=48

Total No. of stacks = 48

Answer:

The total number of stacks =48

Step-by-step explanation:

For the total number of stacks, we need to find HCF(1680,1056)

Using Euclid's Division Lemma,

   1680=1056 x 1 + 624

   1056= 624 x 1 + 432

    624= 432 x 1 + 192

    432= 192 x 2 + 48

    192=   48 x 4 + 0

Therefore,HCF(1680,1056) = 48

So, the total number of stacks = 48

Hope it helps you
