Two ships are sailing on opposite sides of a light house 150 m high and in the same line v
the foot of the light house. Find the distance between the ships when the angles of dep
sion of the ships are observed from the top of light house are 60°and 45°​

AB= Height of lighthouse= 150m

At C and D there are two ships.

Angle ADB = 45°

therefore, tan45°=AB/BD

AB=BD

therfore, BD=150m

Angle ACB = 60°

therefore, tan60°=AB/BC

√3=150/BC

BC = 150/√3

BC = 50×√3

= 86.6m

Therfore distance between the ship is

BC+BD=150+86.6

=236.6m
