Answer :

In first triangle ,

\sf\pink{given}

  • Base is 7

  • opposite is 4

  • hypotenuse is x

\sf\pink{To\:find}

  • measure of x

By Pythagoras theorem ,

Hypotenuse ² = base² + opposite²

\longrightarrow\sf{ x² = 7² + 4² }

\longrightarrow\sf{ x² = 49 + 16 }

\longrightarrow\sf{ x² = 65 }

\longrightarrow\sf{ x = \sqrt{65} }

\longrightarrow\sf{ x = 8.06 }

In second triangle ,

\sf\pink{given}

  • Base is 5

  • opposite is 5

  • hypotenuse is a

\sf\pink{To\:Find}

  • measure of x

By Pythagoras theorem ,

Hypotenuse ² = base² + opposite²

\longrightarrow\sf{ a² = 5² + 5² }

\longrightarrow\sf{ a² = 25 + 25 }

\longrightarrow\sf{ a² = 50 }

\longrightarrow\sf{ a= \sqrt{50} }

\longrightarrow\sf{ a = 7.07 }
