Two sides of a parallelogram are 12 cm and 8 cm. If the altitude corresponding to the side of length
12 cm is 6 cm long, find the length of the altitude corresponding to the side 8cm.

The formula for area of parallelogram is base * corresponding altitude

.Given one side 12cm.

Corresponding altitude 6cm.

Area of parallelogram is 12*6 = 72 cm²

As area remains the same 72 cm² = 8 cm * x. (Let x be the length of the altitude to be found out.)

The other altitude corresponding to 8 cm is ans: 9 cm.
