let a = x cm
b= (x-6)cm
perimeter of rectangle = 64 = 2(a+b)
= 2(x + (x-6))
= 2( 2x -6 )
= 4x - 12
64=4x-12
4x= 64+12
= 76
x= 76/4 = 19
x = 4
