Solution :

As we know ,

Perimeter = Sum of the measure of the all sides .

Using this concept , we can find the third side too .

Two sides = 40 cm and 24 cm

Semi perimeter = 48 cm

Perimeter = 2(Semi Perimeter) = 2(48) = 96 cm

Then the third side =

Perimeter - (Sum of 2 sides)

= 96-(40+24)

= 96-64

= 32 cm
