Given :

  • Two sides of Triangular field = 34 m and 61.6 m
  • The perimeter of field =  129.6 m

To find :

  • the area of the field.
  • altitude corresponding to side 61.6m

Solution :

⇒ Let's find the third side. Let the third be side x.

Perimeter = a + b + c

129.6 = 34 + 61.6 + x

129.6 = 95.6 + x

x = 129.6 - 95.6

x = 34 m

⇒ Let's find the Area.

Semi-Perimeter = a + b + c/2

= 34 + 61.6 + 34/2

= 129.6/2

= 64.8

Area of Triangle = √s (s - a) (s - b) (s - c)

= √64.8 (64.8 - 34) (64.8 - 61.6) (64.8 - 34)

= √64.8 (30.8) (3.2) (30.8)

= √64.8 × (30.8) × (3.2) × (30.8)

= √196709.99

= 443.52

  • Therefore, the Area of field is 443.52 m².

⇒ Now, let's find the altitude.

Area of the triangle = 1/2 × b × h

443.52 = 1/2 × 34 × h

443.52 = 1/2 × 34 × h

443.52 = 17 × h

Height = 443.52/17

= 26.08

  • Therefore, the altitude corresponding to side 61.6m is 26.08 m.
