GIVEN :-

  • Two sides of a triangle are 24.8 and 15.6 cm.
  • perimeter of the triangle = 52.9 cm.

TO FIND :-

  • The length of its third side.

SOLUTION :-

As we know that the perimeter is the measure of sum of all the sides of triangle,

 \\  :  \implies \displaystyle \sf \: Perimeter = side_{1} + side_{2} + side_{3}  \\  \\  \\

 :  \implies \displaystyle \sf \:52.9 \: cm \:  = 24.8 \:  + 15.6 \:  +side_{3} \\  \\  \\

:  \implies \displaystyle \sf \:52.9 \: cm = 40.4 + side_{3} \\  \\  \\

:  \implies \displaystyle \sf \:side_{3} = 52.9 \: cm - 40.4 \: cm \\  \\  \\

Given :

  • Two sides of a Triangle = 24.8 cm and 15.6 cm

  • Perimeter = 52.9 cm

To find :

  • Third Side of the Triangle

Formula to be used :

● Perimeter of a Triangle = Sum of its three sides

According to the question :

⇢a = 24.8 cm

⇢b = 15.6 cm

Let the Third side be ' c '

Applying values in Formula, We Get :

➳ Perimeter = a + b + c

⟹ 52.9 = 24.8 + 15.6 + c

⟹ 52.9 = 40.4 + c

⟹ c = 52.9 - 40.4

c = 12.5

Verification :

➳ Perimeter = a + b + c

⟹ 52.9 = 24.8 + 15.6 + 12.5

52.9 = 52.9

Hence Verified !

∴ The third side of the Triangle is 12.5 cm

So, It's Done !!
