5sq = 3sq +x

25-9= 16

root over 16 equal to 4

By Using Pythagoras Theorem ,

  • let the third side be x

 \sf  {(5)}^{2}  =  {(3)}^{2}  +  {(x)}^{2}

 \sf   {(x)}^{2}  = 25 - 9 = 16 \implies x =  \sqrt{16}  = 4 \: cm
