Two similarly and equally charged identical metal spheres A and B repel each other with a force of 2 x 10^-5 Newton. A third identical, uncharged sphere C is touched with A and then placed at the midpoint between A and B. What is the net force on C?

A , B and C three identical charges given in such a way that force between A and B is F = 2 × 10⁻⁵ N . let charge on each ( A and B sphere) is q.
e.g., F = kq²/r²
Now, a third charge C sphere touched with A
Then, charge q sharing with A and C equally .
So, charge on C = q/2 and charge on A = q/2

Now, charge C is placed between A and B
So, net force act on C = force due to B - force due to A [ here negative sign is used because both the forces are repulsive and hence , net force is the difference of those forces]
e.g.,net force on C = K(q/2)(q)/(r/2)² - K(q/2)(q/2)/(r/2)²
=2 Kq²/r² - Kq²/r²
= Kq²/r² = F = 2 × 10⁻⁵ N
