plot A= 1m width = 40 m
plot B = 1.5m width =20 m
area of hedges = 20-40 = 20
1+1.5 = 2.5
2.5 × 20 = 50

Solution :
Here , we need to find the area covered by the hedges .
This can be found out by calculating the total area and from that subtracting the area of the two plots.
The plots are equally spaced from all sides.
Let's solve Step by Step :
Area of Plot A :
=> [ Length × Breadth ]
=> [ 18 × 18 ]
=> 324 m²
Area of Plot B
=> [ Length × Breadth ]
=> [ 17 × 17 ]
=> 289 m²
Total area of Plot A + Plot B
=> 613 m² .
Total area of the figure :
=> 40 × 20
=> 800 m² .
Thus , the area of the hedge is 187 m² .
This is the required answer.
