Two small kids weighing 10 kg and 15 kg, respectively ,are trying to balance a seesaw of total length
5.0m, with the fulcrum at the centre.If the kid of mass 10 kg is sitting at an end ,where should the

Given :

Two small kids weighing 10 kg and 15 kg, respectively ,are trying to balance a seesaw of total length  5.0 m .

The kid of mass 10 kg is sitting at an end .

Also , the fulcrum is at the centre .

We know , to balance the see saw .

To Find :

The torque due to each the force should be equal .

Solution :

So , balancing torque .

10\times 2.5=15\times x\\\\10(2.5)= 15x\\x=1.67\ m ( Here , sin\ \theta is equal to 1 because angle between gravitational force and distance from centre )

Therefore , other kid will sit at a distance of 1.67 m .
