two solutions a and b contains 30% acid and 32 l acid respectively.when these two solutions are mixed then the resulting mixture contains 20%acid. find total quantity of resultant mixture if total quantity of solution a is 40% of tatal quantity of solution b​

Firstly, total solution we will be getting = 12 + 8 = 20 Litres

Now acid content (in ltrs.) from 1st solution = 40 % of 12 lt. = 40 x 12/100 = 4.8 Ltrs.

Similarly acid content (in ltrs.) from 2nd solution = 20% of 8 ltrs = 20 x 8/100 = 1.6 Lt.

Hence total acid content in the 20 ltr solution = 4.8 + 1.6 = 6.4 Ltrs

Acid content (in %) = (6.4/20) x 100 = 32%.
