two solutions a and b have ph 5and 9 .which solution has higher hydrogen ion concentration and why

The solution a has higher hydrogen ion concentration. Because acids have pH value less than 7. Acids release hydrogen ions in aqueous state. Solution a is an acid, obviously it has higher hydrogen ion concentration.
