            Using law of conservation of momentum

      m₁u₁+m₂u₂=m₁v₁+m₂v₂

⇒0.5x5 + 0.75x3=0.5x4 + 0.75xv₂

⇒2.5 + 2.25 = 2 + 0.75xv₂

⇒2.75=0.75xv₂

v₂=275/75=11/3 m/s
