Different Cases arise when two spheres of Masses m1 & m2 collide.
These cases depend on their masses.
Let v1 be the velocity of the body with mass m1 &
Let v2 be the velocity of the body with mass m2 &
⇒ WHEN m1 = m2
The velocity of 1st body will become = v2 &
The velocity of 2nd body will become= v1
⇒ WHEN m1 = m2 and v2 = 0
The 1st body will stop
The velocity of 2nd body will become = v1
⇒ WHEN m1 <<<<< m2 and m2 is at rest
The velocity of 1st body will become = - v1
The 2nd body will remain at rest.
⇒ WHEN m1 >>>>>> m2 and m2 is at rest
The velocity of 1st body will become = -v1
The velocity of 2nd body v2 = 2v1
