Two states of highest and lowest population:

  • India is a very densely populated country with a population of about "1.3 billion in 2011 census".
  • This population is not evenly distributed and also areas of each state are not same. So, this results in a difference in population in different states.
  • According to "2011 census", the highest populated state of India was Uttar Pradesh with "population of 199,812,341".
  • This resulted in a population density of about "828 people per square kilometres".
  • The lowest populated state of India was Sikkim with "population of 607,688", and population density of only "86 persons per square Kilometers".
