Step-by-step explanation:

Let s = the speed of person B

Since they are walking towards each other, their relative speed is 4 + s.

At this relative speed, they cover a distance of 42 km in 6 hrs.

Therefore 4 + s = 42/6 = 7

Thus s = 7 - 4 = 3 km/h

Answer: A person starts from P at 4km/hr towards Q and Q starts with some rate towards P. Now they meet each other after 6 hours. Therefore the distance covered by both of them is equal to 42 km. Let the rate at which the other person walks towards P be x km/hr.
