By using the formula

2as = v² - u²

Here v would be zero at maximum height. Hence v² = 0

=> 2as = -u²
s= -u²/2a

Height = s

Height of stone 1 :-
s1 = -u1²/-2g

s1 =  \frac{ - u1 {}^{2} }{ - 2g}  \\
Since a = -g
2a = -2g

Height of stone 2 :-

s2 =
 \frac{ - u2 {}^{2} }{ - 2g}  \\

ratio of s1 and s2 =

-u1²/-2g : -u2²/-2g

Cancelling -2g we have ratio =
-u1²: -u2²

Cancelling negative sign we have

u1² : u2²

Hence proved

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️✌️
