Two streetcars are 11 miles apart and tracing toward each other on parallel tracks. They meet in 12 minutes. Find the speed of each streetcar if one travel 15 miles per hours faster than the other.

D = 11 miles

T = 12 min = 1/5 hour

S = 11*5/1 = 55km/h = speed of both ,

x+y = 55

x-y = 15

solving both ,

x = 35 miles per hour , y = 20 miles per hour .
