Two students A and B heated the same volume of water on a candle flame. The student A kept the beaker slightly above the flame and student Burma kept the beaker near to the wick of the candle . In which case water will be heated faster and why

The beaker of will be heated up faster than B's as the beaker is kept above the flame, where complete combustion takes place, transferring more heat to the beaker. Whereas, the beaker of B is kept near the wick, where incomplete combustion takes places with release of partially burnt Carbon compounds, less heat will be transferred to the beaker
