Two students A and B heated the same volume of water on a candle flame. The student A kept the beaker slightly above the flame and student Burma kept the beaker near to the wick of the candle . In which case water will be heated faster and why

The beaker of A will be heated up faster than B's as the beaker is kept above the flame, where complete combustion takes place, transferring more heat to the beaker. Whereas, the beaker of B is kept near the wick, where incomplete combustion takes places with release of partially burnt Carbon compounds, less heat will be transferred to the beaker
