Step-by-step explanation:

Marks obtained by the another student = x

Marks obtained by the first student =(x+9)

His marks was 56% of the sum of their marks . (x+9)/(x+x+9) = 56/100 =>

(x+9)/(2x+9) = 14/25 =>25(x+9)=14(2x+9) =>

25x+225=28x+126=>3x=225-126=99 =>x=33. Hence the marks obtained by them are 33 and 42. Hope it helps you.
