Let marks obtained by the one student be x

Therefore, marks obtained by other student = x + 10

Sum of their marks = x + x + 10 = 2x + 10

Therefore, 60% of 2x + 10 = x + 10

= 60/100 * 2x + 10 = x + 10

= 3/5 * 2x + 10 = x + 10

= 6x + 30/5 = x + 10

= 6x + 30 = 5x + 50

= 6x - 5x = 50 - 30

= x = 20.

Marks obtained by the better student = x + 10 = 20 + 10 = 30 (Ans)
