Answer:

Two students appeared at an examination. One of them secured 9 marks more than the other and his marks was 56% of the sum of their marks. The marks obtained by them are:

[A]. 39, 30

[B]. 41, 32

[C].

42, 33 @

[D]. 43, 34

Answer: Option C

Explanation:

Let their marks be (x + 9) and x.

Then, x + 9 = 56 (x + 9 + x)

100

25(x + 9) = 14(2x + 9)

3x = 99

x = 33

So, their marks are 42 and 33.

Answer:

63

Step-by-step explanation:

total marks =200

let the one student be A

let the other student be B

let A scored marks = x

if B scored 54 more than A

den marks scored by B = 54+x

Given 65% of sum of both marks scored is B's marks

so ATQ,

65(x+54+x) = 100(x+54)

13(2x+54) = 20 ( x+54)

26x+702 = 20x+1080

6x = 378

x= 63

so A scored 63 marks

B scored 117 marks

so lowest score is 63
