Two students appeared in an examination one of them secured nine marks more than the other and his marks were 56% of the sum of their marks find the marks obtained by them. The answer at the back is 36 and 45

Answer:

Let the marks of the 1st guy = x

Let the marks of 2nd guy = x + 9

Sum of their marks = x + (x+9) = 2x+9

According To the Question -

(x+9) = 56% of 2x+9

=> (x+9) = 56/100 * 2x+9

=> 25(x+9) = 14(2x+9)

=> 25x + 225 = 28x + 126

=> 3x = 99

=> x = 3
