two students make a box type solar cooker they painted the insulated box with black colour from inside the cooking pots were painted black from outside and a plain mirror reflector is also attached on. the student covered the solar cooker box with a transparent glass sheet but the other student covered the solar cooker with a transparent plastic sheet which of the two solar cooker will be more efficient and why?

As solar cooker works on the principle of heating of the cooking vessel with the help of solar energy, i.e. , sunlight. So, for heating of vessel the energy absorption rate should be maximum and it can happen only if the color of the vessel will be black. Because, black is the only color that absorb all the visible spectrum wavelenth light. So, black color is highly preferable for solar cooker.
