Solution-

Let the two angles are 4x° and 5x°.

As we know that the sum of two supplementary is 180°, so we can write the equation-

4x+5x = 180

or, 9x = 180

or, x = 180/9

or, x = 20

So, one angle = 4x° = (4×20)° = 80°.

and other angle = 5x° = (5×20)° = 100°.

Hence, the angles are 80° and 100°.

Verify-

4x + 5x = 180

or, (4×20) + (5×20) = 180

or, 80 + 100 = 180

or, 180 = 180

Hence, L.H.S = R.H.S.

GIVEN:-

Two supplementary angle are in the ratio 4:5

____________________________

TO FIND:-

Find the angles.

____________________________

WHAT ARE SUPPLEMENTARY ANGLES?

Two or more than two angles are said to be in Supplementary if the sum of them is added upto 180° means equal to 180°

____________________________

Examples:-

There are may be infinite of supplementary angles are possible in a straight line.

some of them are given in pair=>

(60°,120°)

(50°,130°)

(100°,80°)

(110°,70°)

(170°,10°)

...................................etc

____________________________

SOLUTION:-

Let the angle be x,

then Supplementary angles are=>

4x and 5x

Now,

According to the definition of Supplementary angles.

4x +5x = 180°

9x=180°

x=20°

Therefore,Angles are.....

4×20,5×20

80°,100°...........ANSWER
