Supplementary angles are angles whose sum is 180°.

2x-15+x+30=180

              3x+15 = 180                  combined like terms, 2x + x and (-15) + 30

      3x+15-15 = 180 - 15          subtract 15 to both sides.

                      3x = 165

                      \frac{3x}{3}= \frac{165}{3}                   divide 3 to both sides

                       x = 55

  • First angle: 2x - 15

        = 2x-15\\= 2(55)-15\\= 110 - 15\\= 95

       The first angle is 95°.

  • Second angle: x + 30

        =x+30\\=55+30\\= 85

       The second angle is 85°.

  • To be sure:

        95 + 85 = 180

Answer:

The two supplementary angles are 95° and 85°.
